A few years ago, in 2010 to be precise, BBC Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans bought a Ferrari 250 GTO for £12 million - he had it painted white and added it to his growing collection of (all-white) Ferraris.
£12 million might seem like a steep price for a car, but there are some who would go to even bigger extremes: in May 2012, the 1962 250 GTO (made for Stirling Moss) sold in a private transaction for $35 million, making it the world's most expensive car to date.
