Jaguar E-Type "Eagle Speedster"

I've just finished watching an episode of "The Best of Top Gear" on BBC, in which the Eagle Speedster was shown, a tribute to the original Jaguar E-Type.

While I've never been a fan of convertible cars, I do have to agree with the statement Jeremy made on the show: this car could very well be the most beautiful car on earth - well, one of them at the very least.

Unfortunately that beauty comes with a very hefty price tag, as the Eagle Speedster costs half a million pounds. Chances are few then that you'll ever see one wafting along any highway near you.

To soothe the pain a little, I've gathered a few pictures as today's set of wallpapers, so we can all enjoy the beauty that is the Eagle Speedster - now if only it had a roof...

Jaguar E-Type

Called the most beautiful car ever made (by Enzo Ferrari no less), this E-type started life as a rear-wheel drive grand tourer in coupé and convertible form. It took Jaguar a few years to release the 2+2 four-seater version of the coupé.

Today I'd like to present the original convertible Jaguar E-type: despite the fact that I'm not so fond on convertibles myself, I still think the convertible E-type looks a lot better than the fixed head coupé.

And I'm not the only one who likes the looks of the E-type: because of its good looks, high performance and competitive pricing, the E-type became an icon. A very valuable icon, nowadays. Enough reasons to bask in its glory, so here are the wallpapers!
