Today's star is the reasonably priced car - the Kia Cee'd. Top Gear raised the status of this small family car to "full celebrity" thanks to their "weekly star in a reasonably priced car" event, where they entice a celebrity to try and set a fast lap on their track driving a Cee'd, the successor of their former Suzuki Liana.
The original Cee'd was designed in Germany, in Frankfurt to be precise. It shares the same platform as the Hyundai i30, and to be honest, both cars look a bit similar.
In 2012, the second generation Kia was announced, promising a new and more engaging driving experience. That's probably good news for those celebrities, then ;)
No performance figures today, because the Cee'd is what it is: a reasonably priced, small, front-wheel drive family car, so besides the occasional track on Top Gear it won't see a lot of speedy nor spirited driving. As a family car however, it's quite good: with a Euro NCap rating of 5 stars and a seven year warranty, there are lots of cars out there you'd rather skip, instead of this Cee'd.
