Smart Roadster

The Smart - a small city-car, instantly recognizable and fairly popular, is a rather common sight, but this particular model (the Roadster) is a whole different story.

First introduced in 2003, the Smart Roadster was only produced until late 2005. After 43.091 Roadsters and Roadster Coupés were made, production was stopped, with the last car taking up residence in the Mercedes-Benz museum.

Mostly made to bring a sporty car into the Smart range, they were a nice addition but the price probably was a bit too much, reaching a cost bordering on Mazda MX-5 territory. And let's be honest, we'd all have the MX-5, then.

Still, once in a blue moon when I see one of these Roadsters on the road, I can't refuse having a second look at it.
